The dean talk to Soon Deok’s father and worries of his Chintamani knowledge while to goons suspect Soon Deok to be the lost daughter. It seems to be the episode of mistrust and mis-judgments.
The episode sure kicks off creating interest in our minds but I am sure of one thing, there will be no surprises in the end for the audience, only for the characters. We also see how Soon Deok’s father lost his eyes saving the boy Shi Won from the fire.
Everyone returns to the school and we see a new teacher enter. A senior who won the Moorim Competition but turned down the successor position. He is appointed to train the school students for the competition. The boys get jealous as the girls fawn over him. (It is fun to look at them having the same opinion and reaction for once). I tiny bit of humor at this serious stage in the drama is refreshing.
He instantly starts off by asking the purpose of the competition and students are left puzzled and silent. As the Dean decides to let outsider in the school, not only to participate but also to watch. He tasks the traitor with the most important task, and I am like don’t be fooled. I just hope the dean knows what he is doing.
We see that the boys are used to practicing with their mentors now and the new teacher is keeping an eye on the groups. He also does one of my favorite things, he leaves a lit match between Sun Ah and Chi Ang but suggesting that she likes him. The new entry sure brought a tiny bit of humor and mystery into the drama.
While we see that dean wants his students to learn to protect and not attack we see in this episode that we wants this so that the evil league who wants chintamani can be tracked down.
Am I the only one feeling that he wants all of them all to protect the all powerful weapon instead of choosing one person. When Sun Ah describes Shi Won’s power to him, he wants to learn to use his consciously like his father is shown doing. While the evil teacher tries to lead lead Chi Ang into the wrong direction.
Shi Won and Chi ang fight and even for all the right reasons, Chi Ang starts getting attracted to power and winning.
After some sweet moments of jealously between the main couple comes the hard class by the new professor where students are challenges to beat him. Sun ah fails miserably being the top of the class. This taught Chi Ang and others a lesson and gave them the answer he asked for.
Also Shi Won and his father seem to be walking the same path, as far as the life force energy is concerned. As shi Won tries to learn to use it willingly, he asks to Soon Deok to help but Chi ang steps in.
As the earlier steps fail to use the energy, he is able to control the energy as Chi An’s punch comes in full force. He stops it once and gets hit the next time around. On the day of the competition the Dean removes the barrier and I want to see things unravel now.
As everyone gears up, we see everyone ready to put their plans into action, may it be students, goons, traitors, dean or the villain. Though they do have a good time before that. we also see a brief moment where other recollect their hidden problems which made them turn to Moorim School. Even the hated Yeob Jung is endearing compared to his brother, who is participating.
We see Choi Ho return for the competition as a spy recruited by the wrong people but his intentions waver due to his friend’s goodwill towards him. As Soon Deok suspects the secretary of the kidnapping, he suspects her to be the lost daughter. to make it more mysterious and confusing, Shi Won, gives his locket to her (the third part of Chintamani key we suspect).
As the people get impressed by Moorim’s student’s skill, even the evil teacher feels a proud moment before the evil plans commence. As all the parents arrive to see their students, Shi Won’s father finds the name of the man who took the boy.
On the next level of the competition people fight with a weapon of choice and the spy student, Choi Ho fights with Chi Ang-Soon Deok team but drops out. But the Chairman Wang’s secretaery seem to have other cards up his sleeve. (I can’t believe that he was letting Chi Ang get stabbed.
Later, Soon Deok recollects the faces of the people who kidnapped her, as she sees them accompanying Chairman Wang. Chi Ang comes under Soon Deok’s suspicion as he doesn’t answer her questions. Later they face off in the quarter final of the competition. Chi Ang looses after a good competition but his family issues surface.
I wish his father’s real face his exposed before him and he realises that his mother and him are better off without him.
Well, they son confronts father, he puts on a positive face by pretending that he wanted to expose the truth and Dean Hwang, making him look like the evil man. Dean Hwang plans to do just that after the competition. Huh!! As if the viewers will believe him, after all he is keeping Shi Won’s father from reaching him (also why is he only searching for his son and not his daughter as rigorously?)
The episode gets most interesting as the Jung brothers face off next. For the first time, I am rooting for Yeob Jung but he gets too aggressive on his brother, so much so that the teachers have to hold him back.
The dean as usual remains silent of the accusations created by Wang Hao but realizes his enemy to be him.
Things seems to be ready to go from bad to worse, as always happens before the climax. But I am wondering if the episode will be neatly wrapped for the characters?
