This episode reveals the path that Lee Yoon Sung took to real Korea, & years after knowing the reality.
He gets accepted a Texas citizen with the name John Lee, getting admission in MIT. His adoptive father advices him last three things, before Lee leaves for Korea :- to hide his true identity, not to trust and not to fall in love. The words are the ones, he repeats as he stands to admire his surrounding in Korea, unaware of the fact that Kim Na Na is standing a few steps away. The miss each other in that moment but meet later when she gets to be the emergency replacement driver for John Lee.
He behaves as a playboy, taking a girl to the hotel but a Senior Prosecutor stops them. This is where some of the major characters have crossed paths in this episode.
Both the men are after Lee Kyung Wan, a corrupt official and the woman in question is his mistress. Lee gets some information out of her but later in the episode dumps her.
Na Na’s role is a bit comic here as she initially refuses to drive them around (because they behave as desperate perverts), after helping them but later goes to the hotel to ask for her missing cell phone. It was the hospital calling for her Dad’s surgery. Lee realizes his mistake and pays for the surgery.
The next day, she gets the good news that she passed the exam is not accepted into the Blue house, a presidential guard service. They cross path again as Lee is also accepted in the presidential house as the professor from MIT (at a young age of 28) who is going to work on Presidential Security.
Seems to me like the adoptive father has woven a clever web for the revenge he wants. Of course he had 28 years to do so. Initially he steps up to take this revenge but sits back again, letting Lee do it, his own way.
There are other character introduced which will keep the humour and interest alive in this drama, like-
Go Ki Joon – another member on the presidential security team
Ms Choi Da Hye – president’s daughter with little to no interest in studying
Kim Na Na herself and the other female guard assigned, Shin Sun Ah.
It seems like she wants to repay him. After a little resistance and some insults he finally agrees to be paid back. He even forms a contract that has her doing odd jobs for him with pay. This will pay off the debt. Lee doesn’t show any sign of recognizing Na Na until he is alone.
It is fun to watch when the new joiners teach the security tech team some fighting skills and initially, all of the latter fail miserably. It is fun to watch that a master like Lee is getting thrown again and again by Na Na.
The two lady bodyguards are assigned to the president’s youngest daughter and Lee is introduced to the president. It is laughable when the girl tries to flirt with Lee and is blown off majorly. She also indicates a tough time to the two bodyguards. Da Hye, the daughter, goes to the club causing trouble for the guards and the Prosecutor helps Na Na in the situation.
Also, watch the episode to come across an unexpected kiss and kick between Lee and Na Na. Nice!!!
The episode gets serious after the first half. The father son interaction reveals that Lee Kyung Wan is the only one (out of the four) his father knows and is waiting for the rest to reveal themselves. The prosecutor is also shown to be hunting Lee Kyung Wan and his wrongdoings. Lee has his own ideas to expose the corrupt man. He infiltrates the man’s house while the Prosecutor is trying to get answers from the man in a face-to-face manner. It is also hinted that the Prosecutor’s father is also one of the corrupt man. Later the prosecutor asks Lee about the mistress but he blows the man off casually, trying to form a playboy image.
In the end, two children come into play that indirectly shed some light on the corrupt system. The fund assigned for poor children and their welfare isn’t reaching them. A name comes up often, Sunshine community, and a corrupt official comes to Lee’s notice when he is shredding some papers secretly.
